I am proud of the house we built.

Today I was thinking about my girls and about all of the things we have lived through, grown through, and even those things that we stumbled through.   And what I realize that together we have lived through lots.   Some of those moments were memorable, some of those memories were times that were hard on all of built through all of things I know this:

People do not come with instructions.  We do not come ready to know how to deal with every situation and I certainly did not know how to be a mom or how strong I could be and how much I could deal with.

I am humbled to have been the mother of two wonderful, smart daughters who have taught me how to be more patient, more forgiving, more aware that I was able to bear their burdens, my burdens.   To take a minute to dance to Barney or catch fireflies.

My babies are now young woman and as they are nearing the time they will be on their own, I realize how lucky we are to have each other.   And, while ours is not the normal family we are a family.   And over the years we have built a family, because there is love.   Together we are able to see our way through all issues because we can rely on one another.   Remember -- its not a cliche -- you can always rely on your family.
